Windsor provided design services for a design/build client on multiple tenant improvements in this 18-story high-rise in downtown Portland. The building is home to more than 16 federal agencies and 1,200 federal employees. Certified LEED Platinum, the building has many advanced sustainability features including solar thermal panels that provide for 30% of the building’s domestic hot water, shading devices on the facade, energy efficient lighting systems with advanced control, and a solar roof that produces 3% of the building’s electrical energy requirements annually . In addition, the facility is designed to meet the Federal Guiding Principles for High Performing Green Buildings which required Windsor to partake in several government reviews. Windsor’s scope included TI spaces ranging in size from 1,000 to 4,000 SF in size.
