Olympia Pump Station

[Olympia, WA] Windsor Engineers completed a study, as a sub-consultant to AKS Engineers comparing two sewer pump station alternative to consider merits of a deep pump station with short forcemain compared with a less ideal site location that would have shallower wet well. Windsor also evaluated submersible pump station vs. City’s standard of wet pit/dry pit style of pump station. The shallower forcemain and the submersible pump station were selected as lower cost for the client. Coach Post Pump Station will serve a mobile home park that will be connected to the City’s sanitary sewer system.

La Center Middle School Pump Station

[City of La Center, WA] When bids for a new school came in higher than hoped the project’s civil contractor, Tapani Inc, came up with a money saving design-build alternative to the packaged system that was proposed to serve the new La Center Middle School and surrounding City sewer basin. They turned to Windsor for a solution that was fully customized and met the owner/operator (City of La Center) needs while providing significant savings to the school district.

Northside Lift Station

[City of Washougal, WA] In need of more capacity to serve a new basin in a growing area of Washougal, the city needed new pumping capacity on the north side of the City. The pump station will be owned and operated by the City. Northside LLC contracted with Windsor to work with the City and coordinate with the developer’s civil engineer to design the station. Keeping in mind the present and future flows to the station it was designed to accommodate low flows initially with large flows eventually. With the future flows in mind odor control facilities were included in the design, along with a natural gas generator.

Shepherd Road Lift Station

[City of Washougal, WA] The City of Washougal’s Shepherd Lift Station needed an upgrade to support added flows from new upstream development. This is one of their larger pump stations and is also know as Lift Station #8. Windsor Engineers was contracted to design major improvements including additional pumping capacity, wet well hydraulic improvements, electrical and control upgrades, and a generator relocation. A major challenge with this project was that the upgrades must be completed while keeping the station live. Windsor included by-pass pumping and temporary tie-ins as design features to accommodate the uninterrupted use.

Northside Reservoir & Booster Pump Station

[City of Washougal, WA] The City of Washougal needed more clean water to serve their growing population. After a thorough study of the situation and weighing of alternatives with the client, Windsor engineered a reservoir and booster pump station that met the budget and water demand. Going above and beyond work normally provided by a civil engineer, Windsor provided a 3-D model that helped all stakeholders envision the project. This helped enormously with coordination and prevented cost overruns associated with unclear plans. Design-build performed for Tapani Inc on behalf of Northside LLC. To be City owned and operated.
