CANNON BEACH OUTFALL CONFIGURATION

Windsor Engineers provided analysis of five municipal stormwater outfalls in the City of Cannon Beach, Oregon. Oregon Department of Parks and Recreation expressed concern about these outfalls on Monroe, Madison, Jefferson, Jackson, and Adams Streets as being potential pedestrian and erosion hazards, as well as needing water quality improvements. The outfalls on the “Presidential Streets” of Monroe, Madison, Jefferson, Jackson, and Adams were studied with regards to configuration, water quality, regulatory compliance, erosion potential, and pedestrian safety. Treatment alternatives included upstream pretreatment for oil and gas and debris as well as improvements nearer the outfall locations. The study included field infiltration testing and also considered consolidation of outfalls.
