Filter by project type:
Fire District 3 needed to install a standby backup generator at their existing fire station 34 located at Hockinson, WA. The Fire District required the generator be sized to handle the entire load of the station building. Windsor provided engineering services to size and specify a generator and design the system revisions necessary to accommodate the new generator. Services specifically included a site visit to verify existing conditions, load calculations, bid plans/specifications, and bid/construction support.

FIRE STATION 34 GENERATOR

As the prime consultant, Windsor Engineers provided design for
a unique & challenging multi-family residential complex built into
the side of a hill. The project went through a public, planned unit
development approval process to achieve 264 dwelling units
on 65 lots. The majority of the site will be dedicated to the city
including: ~500 parking stalls, ~5,000 feet of streets, utilities,
parks. 1,900 feet of MSE retaining wall up to 25 feet high.
Coordinated with architectural and structural for prototypical
four & eight plex buildings, 20 feet high integrated concrete site
walls, and planning for a future clubhouse. The project included
power transmission main relocation, GPS, and construction
support.

THE LOFTS AT KALAMA

Windsor provided full MEP design and construction administration services for this 20,500 sf industrial/retail building in Vancouver, WA. The project included warehouse, fabrication, and office space along with two industrial tenant spaces.

VANPORT RIGGING

Windsor provided an analysis of a stormwater outfall located near a large dune. The outfalls is called “7th & Oak.” The project was necessitated due to concern about potential erosion, outfall permitting, and water quality. The outfall extends past the statutory vegetation line and emerges at the base of a large dune. The City had previously installed filtration treatment measures to the outfall system. Windsor provided alternatives analysis and cost estimates to add additional treatment and possibly to reconfigure the outfall. The City implemented additional pretreatment measures quickly after a recommendation by Windsor. Consideration is being given by the City for two alternatives for further improvements, either of which would further preserve safety and reduce erosion potential.

CANNON BEACH STORMWATER OUTFALLS

In need of more capacity to serve a new basin in a growing area of Washougal, the City required new pumping capacity on its north side. The pump station will be owned and operated by Washougal. Northside LLC contracted with Windsor to work with the City and coordinate with the developer’s civil engineer to design the station. Keeping in mind the present and future flows to the station, it was designed to accommodate low flows initially with large flows eventually. With the future flows in mind, odor control facilities were included in the design, along with a natural gas generator.

WASHOUGAL NORTHSIDE SEWER LIFT STATION

Windsor Engineers provided civil design services for a 94 lot phase of a larger development. Work included streets, grading, stormwater, erosion control, water, and sewer.

SI ELLEN FARM SUBDIVISION

Windsor Engineers prepared a biosolids storage study for the City of Hood River. The study evaluated the quantity of biosolids storage needs, assessed the expansion alternatives, and recommended architectural, structural, mechanical, civil, and process improvements to double the wastewater treatment plant biosolids storage capacity.

HOOD RIVER BIOSOLIDS STORAGE

Vail Two is a 7-story, 215-unit apartment building in Shoreline, WA with 2 levels of underground parking. The building includes multiple amenities including fitness and rooftop lounge. The project achieved Built Green four-star sustainability certification (similar to LEED Silver). Windsor provided Design-Assist engineering services for the project in preparation for the design-build contractors.

VAIL TWO APARTMENTS

Shoreline LRT Apartments is a new construction mixed-use residential
building located in Shoreline, Washington just steps away from Sound
Transit’s future 145th street lightrail station. The building will be 5
stories of type V construction over 2 stories of type I construction, with
2 levels of underground parking of type I construction. The building
will have between 240 and 250 units, amenities, leasing office, and
retail space. There will also be an elevated courtyard space and
rooftop amenities. The project is intended to achieve BuiltGreen 4-star
sustainability certification.

THE LINE APARTMENTS

The first phase of The Vantage, a mixed-use development located on
a combined parcel in Vancouver, Washington, will set a high
standard for community-centric solutions and creative design. The project
scope consists of 5 new construction buildings: three retail shells,
one coffee kiosk and one office; parking areas, and full landscaping. Site
amenities include loading areas, trash and recycling areas.
Retail buildings will be designed as shell-only and include structural
overhangs on all sides with interior-exterior access to individual patios to the
north of each building. Storefront glazing to the east and west provide street
and parking views to the interior and allow for ample light within the space.
Due to its location at the bottom of a hill, all retail buildings must contain
clean roof lines, free of any mechanical systems to maintain pleasant site
lines. Future tenants considered include commercial kitchen restaurants,
fitness studios including hot yoga, and traditional retail. Building 2 office
building is two stories with surface-level parking.

THE VANTAGE

Windsor assisted the client in the development of a commercial site to include two new 5,000 SF buildings, each designed to host two business-owner tenants for their construction business offices and shop space. The Windsor scope is comprehensive, including pre-application services, civil design, landscape design, mechanical/plumbing design, electrical design, permitting, oversight of architectural, structural, archaeological, septic, and traffic subconsultants.

BRUSH PRAIRIE SITE DEVELOPMENT

Windsor Engineers - in partnership with subconsultant Pali Consulting - designed a large 325 feet long and up to 28 feet high retaining wall alongside Interstate 5 as part of the The Lofts at Kalama multifamily housing project. The wall design included a geogrid tieback system and was coordinated with the nearby new sewer collection system and newly proposed circulation streets.
